Wrecks for beginners, experienced divers and tech divers

Cyprus is best known for the wreck of the Zenobia - the 170-metre-long RoRo ferry sank off Larnaca in 1980 and is easily accessible between 17 and 42 meters deep. A wreck that excites both experienced divers and tech divers.

With the Zenobia, a fleet of 104 semi-trailers went to the bottom of the sea, some of which can also be easily explored aside of the wreck. A large number of wrecks along Cyprus' southern coasts make the island extremely attractive for wreck diving enthusiasts.

Nemesis
Off Protaras in the southeast of Cyprus lies the 25-meter-long wreck of the Nemesis. It was sunk 10 years ago to create an artificial reef. The well-preserved ship, which lies upright at 24 meters, is also easy to dive inside. Together with the wreck of the freighter Liberty, they are part of the Paralimni Marine Protected Area.

Elpida
The wreck of the Elpida off Larnaca, not far from the Zenobia, is very popular. The 63-metre-long cargo ship, which lies at a depth of between 14 and 30 meters, is ideal for swimming through and discovering the rich underwater fauna.

Constandis and Lady Thetis
Further west, dives in the Limassol Marine Park are well worthwhile. The fishing boat Constandis (25 meters deep) and the passenger ship Lady Thetis (12-20 meters deep), which was built in Germany in 1953, were sunk there around 10 years ago as an artificial reef. The wrecks are 200 meters apart and are therefore very suitable for scooter diving.

Wrecks in the Paphos region
Not far from the picturesque port of Paphos are the Laboe, Vera-K and Achilleas wrecks, among others. And no matter where you dive in Cyprus: here you can experience the fauna of the eastern Mediterranean, warm water temperatures all year round and very good visibility. In addition, many diving centers are open all year round.
