Extra Divers and Poseidon at Mövenpick Resort El Quseir
During the Rebreather Event from 17.05.-25.05.2022, diving guests of Extra Divers El Quseir can discover a completely new dimension of diving. In cooperation with Poseidon Diving Systems and with the expert guidance of the Course Director of the Poseidon Academy, interesting free lectures on rebreather diving as well as rebreather try dives and advice on all questions concerning the Poseidon rebreathers will be offered.
Compared to "normal" diving with compressed air, rebreather diving is a completely different experience. With the rebreather you become a part of the underwater world, without disturbing air bubbles that could irritate or scare away fish. With modern rebreather equipment, diving is completely silent, and at the same time, the lengthy and time-consuming preparations associated with a rebreather dive in years past are eliminated.
The well-known diving equipment manufacturer Poseidon from Sweden is one of the market leaders in the field of rebreather technology. The most innovative equipment from Poseidon's product line, the Poseidon SE7EN+, will be used for the Try Dive. This fully automatic rebreather is a 3rd generation system based on the original MKVI and arguably the biggest breakthrough in the diving community in many decades.
The rebreather try dives are suitable for beginners as well as experienced divers who want to test a rebreather and will take place directly at the species-rich house reef of Mövenpick Resort El Quseir. After a short briefing you will start together with the Poseidon instructor for an approx. 45-minute try dive. The dive takes place in a ratio of 1-to-1 (or for buddies or couples max. in a ratio of 1-to-2), so that the divers are offered a real VIP experience. Different times are available 3x a day for try diving. All instructors, who travel from Germany especially for the Extra Divers event, have many years of training experience with rebreathers from different manufacturers (SF2, AP Inspiration, Dräger, Poseidon).
The price for the rebreather taster dive including material and equipment is 159,- Euro per person. Please note that due to limited capacity, pre-booking of the try dive is recommended.
Extra Divers El Quseir
The Extra Divers dive center, managed by professional German-speaking staff, is located on the beach of the Mövenpick Resort El Quseir. Directly at the diving center is the jetty with access to the varied house reef, which guarantees underwater experiences of the special class! In addition to the great abundance of fish and corals, rare macro highlights can also be found in the bay. With a little bit of luck even dolphins, eagle rays, whitetip sharks or whale sharks drop by. Even smaller and bigger caves can be discovered at the house reef. The reef is used under ecological aspects and therefore the number of divers is limited. In addition to shark reef diving, trips by speedboat or day trips from Port Ghalib are offered.
