The dive center Pianeta Diving exists for approx.2 years in the Arbatax Park Resort in Arbatax. It´s run by a very friendly couple(Enrico & his wife Monica). Enrico is an SSI Instructor. He speaks Italien, French and English, to my knowledge. They offer all the courses from SSI. It´s also possible to dive with Pianeta diving if you live outside the park resort. The base is directly on the beach with all the facilities needed. Thre are two fresh water tanks to wash your equipment after the dives. Rental equipment is also available. They also have a Motor-Dinghy which they use for nearly all the dives, except when it´s rough sea or too windy.
I arrived on 10th September so the season was almost finished, which made it more comfortable, as we were mostly diving alone or with a couple of other divers. I went down and asked how things happen and Enrico gave me the usual forms to fill out and arranged to pick me up the next morning at 8:00 o´clock. I was staying in a part of the Resort called Il Borgo which is at the north end of the Resort. A bus, which travels around the park area is for use free and stops not far from the dive center.
Once picked up you get ready with all the equipment then go down to the beach and onto the boat, Enrico and Monica help to transport the equipment.
Diving is with a 15L Tank and two dives per boat trip. We usually came back around lunchtime. It´s also possible to do an afternoon dive from the beach and night dives if enough divers are interested and weather permitting. The breaks between dives are on board and Monica offers water and crackers.
They have lots of wonderful sites to dive, I dived around 8 different sites with 2 cave dives (amazing).
There is plenty too see and alot of fish, moray eels, sea slugs, barracuda, groupers and octopus.
The price for the dives are Mediterranean standard costing for 1 dive 37€ with air and lead. The dives are then added together and become packages from 3 dives onward, whereby the more you have the more discount you become.
All in all a very well organised diving center with everything one needs to have a relaxed and good led dive.
