I´d like to comment on Caro´s review.
I have been to Don Habitat a few times. When I checked in I always needed to show my medical statement and sign a number of relief forms.
Before the 1st dive I have always received a *very extensive* briefing of hoe Don Habitat works, etc. And I have always had to go through a check dive.
In other words: I don´t know what went wrong when you were there.
Sure, there are solodivers there. I personally wouldn´t do that, but it is your own responsibility. That is what 24x7 diving freedom means: you are a certified diver (this will be checked before you can use the facilities), so it´s is up to you to decide how you want to dive.
Furthermore: Don Habitat has one of the best house reefs of Bonaire. Small wreck, lots of coral, lots of fish. Last time I was there (january last year) I even found a resident seahorse.
Don Habitat is a diver´s hotel. Facilities are good, food is good, diving operation is excellent!
At least two boat doves a day and lot´s of shore diving.
Don´t miss Karpata or 1000 steps on the North side and some of dive sites on the very south (like red slave). You will run into turtles, rays (stingrays, eagle rays), and if you´re lucky even nurse sharks or dolphins. And if you are really lucky you might see a whale shark (although very uncommon).
Go to Bonaire for the smaller critters and the beautiful coral. And go to Don Habitat if you enjoy maximum diving freedom!
