Aqualung Group warns of counterfeit Apeks valves
The Aqualung Group has announced that counterfeit Apeks valves for drysuits are in circulation. Both inlet and outlet valves are affected.
As can be seen in the illustrations, the counterfeit can be distinguished from the original.
The inflator connector on the inlet valve is clearly recognizable as counterfeit. The holes in the fake product are slightly larger (2 mm) than in the original (1 mm).
On the exhaust valve, the inner cap (visible from the outside) is gray in the original (right picture), on the counterfeit the cap is black (left picture).
The plastic used in the counterfeit is of significantly poorer quality; however, this can probably only be recognized by direct comparison.
