In loving memory of a special friend

Herbert ‘Hank’ Neukam (* 4 July 1958 - † 8 April 2025) left us much too early. A terrible hunting accident took Herbert's life on Tuesday. Hank was not only a valued colleague in the diving industry, but above all he was a loyal friend who enriched our lives in so many ways.

Hank and one of his passions: his motocyle

With a heavy heart and tears in my eyes, I look back on the last time we spoke, about three months ago at the boot in Düsseldorf. We had been so looking forward to Hank's visit to us in Upper Bavaria this summer – good food, interesting conversations and just spending time together. The thought that we will never see each other again is hard to grasp. We had known each other for a long 20 years, and during that time a deep connection developed that has always shaped us.

Hank's impressive career as an independent sales representative began in 1984 with the sports brand Wilson and continued to develop through his tireless efforts. From 1995 to 2010, he passionately promoted the Cressi brand and made a decisive contribution to the brand's success in Germany.

After his time at Cressi, Hank worked with Felix Leibundgut from 2011 to 2012, selling the Canadian brand Bare. Here he not only gained valuable experience in the marketing of dry suits, but also laid the foundation for his new role at BtS Europe. DUI and their dry suits were and are one of the main pillars at BtS. Thomas Dederichs hired Hank for BtS Europe AG starting 1 July 2012. Hank worked here as a sales professional until his death.

Dear Hank, take care. May your dives in the eternal ocean be full of wonder and joy. We will miss you very much, and our thoughts are with your family in this difficult time.

In loving memory,

Condolence book: Herbert 'Hank' Neukam

Gerald Nowak: Dear Hank, you just left us without any fuss or ado. You secretly snuck off to diver heaven. Wasn't it just recently that we were together in Egypt, or is it just my imagination? How quickly 20 years go by. We had so much fun and always a lot to laugh about. A check dive with four renowned divers, approved by a youngster who didn't even notice that we put our masks back on upside down after putting them down. The photo shoot on the beach, where you just didn't feel like it anymore after the umpteenth time and preferred the sundowner to us. The ultra-long dives, after which we were likely to see the frustrated faces of the divers who had been waiting forever and you, as always, had a cheeky saying on your lips. I'll miss all of that - we'll miss all of that! Take care, my friend, and make the guys in diving heaven laugh now. See you!

Thomas Dederichs: Dear Hank, travelling was your passion. No distance was too far for you. No matter where in your large area of sales a customer needed support, you were on the road. Now you have gone on your last great journey due to a tragic accident during your other great hobby, hunting. We wave with tears in our eyes. Take care Hank. We'll see you again one day.
