A vital mission for one of the most endangered dolphins in the world
On 3 January 2025, a newborn Franciscana (La Plata dolphin, Pontoporia blainvillei) dolphin, Francisca, was found alone and in critical condition on the shores of Florianópolis, Brazil. Too weak to survive on her own, she needed immediate help.
The Franciscana dolphin is one of the most endangered dolphin species in the world. Francisca is not just an individual – she represents the precarious situation of her entire species. Francisca is fighting for survival – and you can help!
It costs €100 per day to care for her. This amount covers the intensive, round-the-clock care provided by a highly qualified team, special milk and medical care – everything she needs to have a chance at a new life.
Even a small donation can save lives:
€10 is enough for a meal that will strengthen Francisca.
€25 helps to ensure her medical care.
€50 finances half a day of care for her.
Every contribution counts, because Francisca has no time to lose!
Your help ensures a future for Francisca and her kind.
The non-profit organisation YAQU PACHA is working tirelessly with R3 in Florianópolis to save these endangered dolphins. R3 is part of the Alliance for Franciscana Dolphin Conservation Research, Rescue, and Rehabilitation (AFCR3). YAQU PACHA is a founding member of AFCR3.
With your donation, you will help ensure the survival not only of Francisca, but also of many other dolphins of this endangered species.
