Thousand Island / Putri Island, bei Jakarta

The so called: ´ soft corral 1 & 2 ´ dive spots were terrible. Because, some years ago, it was popular to use dynamite for fishing in the region. First time in my live I was diving like ´ on the moon ´ ! All dead down there. Almost no fishes and if very small reef fishes ONLY. Visibility on that day was poor, only 3-5 meter as a max. Before we started to our second dive that day (from the boat) we saw some guys in their boat crossing our way to the second spot, and their boat was full with fresh stolen corrals !! So basically, they used a hammer to brake them off the sea, prepare them somewhere else to sell those corrals later on the market, as a souvenir for a desk or similar. Unbelievable, as this all was done in a NATIONAL PARK. Nobody seems interested in it at all. Plastic bags all over the place, floating in the water, even in max 18 meter depth you find so many of those!! It´s a shame, because we as divers regular love / like the nature. This is the opposite side. Unfortunately, the guys do not have any awareness for the own great territory. Overall and after our return to the Island with our dive boat, we found a dead floating sea turtle in the harbour. This final impression underlined the not so funny experience of that day. Waist of time & money to dive there at all.

Putri Island hat im Vergleich mit Kotok Island (siehe den Bericht von
2007) wesentlich mehr zu bieten. Die Fahrt im Speedboot dauert
gleichfalls ca. 2 Std. von Jakarta aus. Die Bungalows sind sehr viel
besser ausgestattet als auf Kotok, es gibt einen Swimmingpool und
Restaurant und das Essen sind wesentlich besser und hygienischer
bereitgestellt. Des weiteren hat man einige große Aquarien unter anderem
mit Haien und Rochen und einen Unterwassertunnel und ein Glasbodenboot.

Die Insel hat eine eigene Tauchbasis mit Equipment. Doch habe ich ein
Wochenend-Paket von Kristal Klear Diving www.kristalkleardive.com gebucht.
4 TG inkl. Unterkunft, Essen + 3 Teile Ausrüstung umgerechnet für 208
EUR. Getränke zahlt man separat.
Diese Tauchschule/Basis wird von hauptsächlich australischen Expats
geleitet und benutzt. d.h. das Management und Ausrüstung bis zu den
Diveguides sind meiner Meinung nach eine Klasse besser/sicherer.
Des weiteren hat man so die Möglichkeit in der Gruppe vom Boot zu
tauchen, was weitere Inseln/Riffe zugänglich macht und die Basis nur
ungern für einzelne organisiert.
Die Tauchgänge sind sehr stark Wetter und Saison abhängig. Ich habe
alles von 3-25 Meter Sicht gehabt. Oft gibt es ein leichte Strömung, was
aber kein Problem darstellt.. Man taucht in der Regel an einem Riff
entlang und wird vom Boot wieder eingesammelt. In der Nähe des
Bootsanlegers gibt es ein Wrack eines alten untergegangenen Tunnels, das
immer ein Tauchgang wert ist.
Die Riffe sind nicht so schön wie in Ägypten und teilweise beschädigt.
Großfische sind selten, doch gibt es viele Schnecken und Clownfische in
allen Farben zu sehen, von gelb über rot, lila bis schwarz. Es gibt
viele Weich-, Salat- und Fächerkorallen.
Verglichen mit Deutschland sind die Tauchgänge sehr schön, doch gibt es
anderswo in Indonesien bessere und Luxuriösere Tauchgebiete. Wer jedoch
in Jakarta ist und nicht fliegen will/kann hat so sicher eine
Alternative. Den Resort würde ich mit 2-3 Flossen bewerten, die
Tauchgänge mit 4-5 Flossen.
