Dive-Mex, a small but very friendly diving enterprise, is situated in Playa Del Carmen, on the mainland opposite Cozumel. We took the ferry boat from our dive hotel in Cozumel to make a shark dive. We were greeted by Dive master Marcel Taubert at the ferry landing who took care of everything. They have excellent equipent for rent and then transport you to the shore where a dive boat awaits you. We went for a terrific shark dive. Marcel Taubert did a fine briefing, dispelling any excessive fears and telling us how to behave near the sharks. We encountered about five magnificent specimens at ´Shark Point´, around 3 meters length and all went without any problems.
I can recommend Dive-Mex and Marcel heartily. A fun and exciting dive. I had never been near to sharks under water and now I want to do it again- often.
