LOCATION:
The Aquarius diving centre is located in the wonderful peninsula of "Capo coda cavallo" between Olbia and S. Teodoro. This part of Sardinia is fantastic with white sand/green water beaches and spots of Mediterranean Wood. The Tavolara Island is really impressing.

DIVE CENTRE:
The diving centre facilities are inside a nice and shadowy part of mediterranean "Macchia". It is equipped with compressors for EANx (not for free) and cylinders from 10 to 15 liters. We had our own equipment so I can't make any point on their one. At the Aquarius safety is a must, there is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and all the dive guide/instructors are extremely nice and helpful. Professionalism and family feeling together. They repaired for free our hoods and a couple of times we could use one of their torches without any extra fee. Our impression was that, for them, the customer satisfaction is more important than the rest, small extra money included. Spoken languages are for sure Italian and English, maybe French. When I was there there was no German speaking guide/instructor.

PRICE:
The price is ok considering that all dives are done with a R.I.B. (Zodiac). We were never packed inside the boat and there was,on average, a guide/instructor every 3-4 divers.
Weights and cylinders are included in the price.

DIVES:
Well, the dive sites in the protected area of Tavolara are really the top! I was indeed surprised to see how rich the Mediterranean can be.
There are several good spots but the "Secche del Papa" are really fantastic! They are for sure in my top ten, ever. You can see several 1m long Groupers all together and not scared (you can really get close). Walls with splendid gorgonian corals (red, yellow and white) and thousands of other fishes (Dentex, Brown Meagres, Cow breams..). If you like nudibranchs is it also a place you'll love. In the area there are three real wrecks at different depths for beginners and advanced divers. It is also possible to do easy cave diving.
I do not think you can dive without a professional local guide (for sure not in the protected Area A) but if they see that you are a reliable and safe diver they give you quite a lot of freedom in the way you may want to develop your dive.

We will for sure go there again, probably in September which is supposed to be the best period for diving and enjoying the environment. It is not a good idea to go there in August because it is the holiday month in Italy and the place will be quite busy.
