Coral Reef Adventure 2025: On Thursday, 27 February 2025 from 17:00 to 18:00, Prof. Dr. Christian Wild from the University of Bremen will give the lecture: ‘Corals, algae, microorganisms - Who controls life in the coral reef? And what role do environmental changes play?’

von Christian Wild

Christian Wild has been studying coral reefs for 30 years. He and his research group at the University of Bremen are investigating the role of corals and other organisms as ecosystem engineers. He chaired the 2021 and 2022 World Coral Reef Conferences and, in this context, coordinated the creation of an expert publication on solving the coral reef crisis.

Dr Wild's research has also been moving in this direction for some time, i.e. he is trying to use ideas from science to ensure that corals and their reefs suffer less from climate change.
