A new model in the scuba collection by Stefan Wiessmeyer
A few months ago, Stefan Wiessmeyer asked you to take part in the survey for a new model for his jewellery collection. As the blue ring octopus and the blue sea dragon received the same number of votes, Stefan decided to model the blue sea dragon, as this motif really appealed to him.
After many weeks of work, we are delighted to be able to present the result of his work to you today. The Blue Sea Dragon was first modelled in wax by Stefan Wiessmeyer and then cast in silver to obtain the master model. A mould was then created from this master model and the blue dragons were cast in 925 silver to prepare them for enamelling. Each piece of jewellery is painstakingly enamelled by hand in many steps and then further processed to the finished piece of jewellery.
We hope you like the Blue Sea Dragon as much as we do. Stefan would of course also be delighted to receive your feedback.
You can find the Blue Sea Dragon (Glaucus atlanticus) on Stefan Wiessmeyer's website in the shop at...www.wiessmeyer.de
About Stefan Wiessmeyer's ‘scuba collection’
Pieces of jewellery with fish and sea creatures: Back in 1995, after a diving holiday in the Maldives, Stefan Wiessmeyer had the idea for his jewellery collection featuring tropical fish and sea creatures, which was initially called ‘Kleine Fische’ (Small fish). From the very beginning, all pieces of jewellery were designed and modelled by Stefan himself and then produced by him personally in elaborate handwork. Over the years, the collection has grown steadily and new models have been added so that the current scuba collection now comprises over 75 different motifs.
