Successful clean-up operation at Stockelache
On 1 May, the multi-award-winning diving school Taucher Nordhessen teamed up with the town of Borken to carry out a large-scale clean-up operation at Stockelache.
The campaign, which had already attracted a great deal of interest in the run-up to the event, was supported by numerous divers from central and northern Hesse and attracted a lot of attention from visitors and the media.
As part of Environment Day, the dedicated athletes dived into the depths of the popular swimming lake to recover rubbish and debris from the lake bed. At the same time, numerous volunteers on land cleared the surrounding meadows, bushes and paths of rubbish.
‘We are delighted with the high turnout and the positive response,’ said a spokesperson for the Taucher Nordhessen diving school. ‘The cooperation with the town of Borken was once again excellent and shows how important joint environmental campaigns are for the preservation of our natural environment.’
The diving school was already recognised for its exemplary commitment to environmental protection in 2024. With yesterday's campaign, Taucher Nordhessen once again emphasises that sustainable nature conservation is not just a concern, but a living practice.
The diving school has already announced that it will continue to carry out regular clean-up campaigns in the future, relying on the support of the local population and administration.
