World champion Nik Linder presents SSI monofin programme
On 24-25 October 2015, freedive world champion Nik Linder will be at the Monofin Weekend at the monte mare’s indoor diving centre. He will conduct a new range of SSI Specialty courses in Basic Monofin Freediving and Monofin Freediving, which he has developed in collaboration with photographer Phil Simha.

During this weekend, the International SSI Monofin programme will be launched. The courses presented during the weekend will be supported by SSI, which will sponsor the cost of certification and the kit. Manufacturers will also be on hand to showcase their monofin products, and offer them up for testing.

On 24 October 2015 (Saturday), the following classes will be conducted:
Course: Basic Monofin Freediver
Course content: Theory, stretching, and basics of monofin freediving (including technology, training, etc). Certificate of completion of Basic Monofin Freediver course. Requirements: Applicants to possess Basic SSI Freediver certification or equivalent. It is not necessary to own a monofin or to know how to use one.
Course fee: 99 Euros (includes VAT training materials, certification fees, and one-time admission to monte mare)
Course: Monofin Freediver
After the Basic Monofin Freediver course, the next step is the Monofin Freediver course, which teaches you how to use the monofin when scuba-diving.
Requirements: Applicants to possess SSI Level 1 Freediver certification or equivalent. It is not necessary to own a monofin or to know how to use one.
Course fee: 139 Euros (includes VAT training material, certification fees, and one-time admission to monte mare)

The courses on 25 October 2015 (Sunday) are for instructors only. SSI instructors with little or no experience diving with a monofin can learn the basics and gain practical experience. They will learn to detect and respond to errors, and also how to perform demonstrations for their students.
Course: SSI Basic Monofin Specialty Instructor
Requirements: Applicants to hold at least an Assistant Instructor position
Course fee: 259 Euros (includes VAT training materials, certification fees, and one-time admission to monte mare)
Course: SSI Monofin Instructor
Requirements: Applicants to possess Level 1 Instructor Freediving certification
Course Fee: 299 Euros (includes VAT training materials and certification fees, and one-time admission to monte mare)
