Everything revolves around Malta on 27 January
The diving paradise in the Mediterranean invites you on a virtual journey through historic underwater treasures in Hall 12. As part of the world's largest boat show, one of the most interesting diving destinations in the Mediterranean will be impressively presented to its visitors.
On Saturday, 27 January 2024, everything will revolve around the underwater world of Malta, Gozo and Comino in Hall 12 at boot Düsseldorf. From 11:30 to 17:00, the stage at the diving tower will be filled with film screenings and expert interviews, allowing the public to see for themselves the diverse opportunities for divers of all experience levels.
In addition to presentations by the Malta Tourism Authority, representatives from renowned diving centres will share their experiences on cave and wreck dives and provide information on technical and apnoea diving. In addition, the Underwater Cultural Heritage Unit Malta (UCHU) invites visitors on a 360-degree journey through the first underwater museum. Using virtual reality goggles, exciting images and videos take you to historical wrecks and finds at depths of up to 140 metres (also suitable for children).
Virtual Museum: Underwater Malta
With "The Virtual Museum: Underwater Malta", the island state is making part of its centuries-old history accessible to everyone on their home screen. The depth of the exhibits ranges from two to 110 metres. More than 20 archaeological sites can currently be visited virtually. The latest addition is the HMS Urge, a Royal Navy submarine that sank in 1942. Divers can use the virtual museum tour to prepare for dives or to get an impression of those dive sites and excavation sites that are not accessible to recreational divers. Interested persons can clarify personal questions with underwater experts while enjoying snacks and drinks at the Beachhouse (at the diving tower). In addition to the Malta Day, the destination will be represented at the Taucher.Net stand A31 Hall 12 from 20 to 28 January 2024.
