Imagine floating through crystal-clear water, colorful corals beside you, when suddenly majestic Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins appear right before your eyes. On October 9, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Angela Ziltener (University of Zurich & Dolphin Watch Alliance) will take you on this fascinating underwater journey in her online lecture.
Learn firsthand how these amazing marine mammals live and communicate, and what adventures await researchers in the Red Sea.
About Angela Ziltener
Since 2009, wildlife biologist and president of the Dolphin Watch Alliance (DWA), Angela Ziltener, has been researching the behavior of the Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops aduncus) in the Red Sea. She is also committed to the sustainable protection and respectful treatment of dolphins, whose way of life is severely affected by increasing tourism in particular.
While it is standard practice to conduct research observations from a boat, the conditions off Hurghada/El Gouna also allow for underwater research using scuba diving equipment. This is a research approach that is not practiced elsewhere in the world with Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins.
