we just returned from a great diving holiday in Sharm, with Werner Lau. We have been reading some of the other emails on this site and are surprised by so many negative experiences. We feel some people go to Egypt expecting same standards as back home. Well, here is some news: you are visiting an Arabic country with a totally different culture, climate, daily rhythm, sanitary standard etc, etc. As you Germans say: ´ Immer mit der Ruhe´, perfectly applicable in Egypt. Although Werner Lau is a German company, they are dependent on their Egyptian assets: the bus picking you up is Egyptian as is the boat. If you keep all this in mind, you will most probably enjoy your vacation.
Of course there are some points of criticism:
we were glad to have our own stuff; lot of the hired equipment suffered breakdowns somewhere, just when people wanted to jump off the boat. Everything is very commercial, accompanied by some inflexibility when wanting to plan a course.
Oh well, if that´s all....we were impressed by Werner Lau´s professional team, eye for safety, free nitrox service, etc.
