Awesome Proco
If there was more than 5 stars to give to Proco Island Bambu Resort, I would give them without any hesitation. I am a scuba instructor with 5500 + dives each, made dives in Indonesia, and I wanted to discover Halmahera reef during my holidays. I did 7 dives with Proco and what I experienced here was way above my expectations.
I have had luck to dive with many different friendly white tip and black tip sharks, barracudas, turtles, mantas, eagle rays, several spanish macquerels, tunas and many other fishes. I saw dolphins on the way to one of the dives and even swam with pilot whales. Nice spot for macro as well, I saw many nudibranchs and several crocodilefish. There is an amazing variety of hard and soft coral, extremely healthy and colorful, as well as many different species of anemonnes.
Most of the sites are located about 10/20 min away from the resort in every direction. They do 3 tanks boat day dive with one hour surface interval in between dives. Water is 29 degrees Celsius and visibility is between 25 and 40 meters.
Proco have 2 large dive boats that could easily accomodate 10+ divers but they choose to limit the boat capacity to 8 people and 2 guides.
I was guided by Simon, very friendly people with great knowledge of the local seas and dive sites. Captain Arnold is very skilled, professional and kind as well. Between every dive they had a cooler full of drinks and snacks available.
Proco Island Bambu Resort is just a little paradise on Earth, with amazing people. The resort is completely eco friendly
