I started diving on Mallorca in 2003 at a dive school called Oxy-Dive Porto Petro. Since a few years this base has been renamed to Petro Divers and is now owned by Anja and Ralf. During the years I kept diving at Petro Divers because of the excellent service and good personnel. The professional but also relaxed attitude before, during and after the dives have been stunning to see as a rookie diver.
Last year I decided after a lot of dives to become professional. The choice where to get my course was really easy. The organization wasn´t really important for me because they are for me all te same. So I did my SSI DiveCon training with a lot of pleasure at Petro Divers and got the feeling I learned everything I needed to start. To put this knowledge in practice I wanted to try it for some weeks. I was very pleased to hear they wanted to give me this opportunity.
During my vacation from my regular work, I worked at Petro Divers for three weeks as a DiveCon. So I started guiding customers, accommodating fun-dives, assisting customers, assisting instructors during courses and all the common stuff at a dive center. Although my training has been really could I noticed I had a lot to learn. Doing it for real is for me only way to do this. With supervision of professionals as Ralf, Mario, Mayo and M. made me confident enough to do everything and gain with this the needed experience. The total team made me feel like I belonged there. As always I was heavily depressed about leaving the island again, and all of my dear colleagues I worked with for such a short time. Working with them showed me the effort which is really put in by all individual team members to act as a team with the reason to have theirour guests the best time they can have.
This was also seen on the Save the Ocean day which was organized by the city of Porto Petro for the celebration of the San Joan festival. Our whole team assisted by a couple of guests (Uwe, Bert & Lisa: Thanks a lot) putted a lot of effort during three dives which resulted in the collection 500kg of garbage from the bottom of the sea. Most of it consisted out of bottles, plastic and boat stuff.
For me is Petro Divers the best dive school in the world which always earns the highest ranking on Taucher.Net
