Well, what can I say, I,ve just been for two weeks on Eriyadu for a very relaxing holiday. The only thing I`ve been doing there was diving, eating, sleeping and every now and then having a couple of beers in the bar discussing the passed day. For diving you`re exactly in the right place! The island itself is 100 meter by 300 meter small, but that is absolutely no problem considering the beauty of the housereef, really magnificent. Further two times a day boats will take you to all the beautifull spots in the surrounding area.
The housereef house has 4 entry/ exit points to which transportation of your gear is taken care off, so you don`t have to carry your havy stuff. When you leave the water other then the exit near the divecenter, you can just leave your tank under a bank on the island and walk back to the divecenter without a heavy tank on your back. Diving on the housereef is very nice, you will see all sorts of fish and other life. At least I saw a couple of white tip reefsharks, stingrays, eaglerays, turtles, stonefish, morray eels, and the whole rest of the Indian Ocean aquarium. It will take a couple of dive, but I can garantee you, finally you will all see them.
The boats, that go twice a days will take you to all places you want, especially the spots with a lot of current. If you`re lucky the current on the divespots will be that big you`ll need both your hands to hold on to the reef, then you will see all the big fish in large numbers. Unfortunately with al our dives the current was still swimmable, so the big fish were there in few numbers. My top 3 for the spots on the North Male Atol near Eriyadu is 1. Lucky Express, 2. Lucky Hell and 3. Finger Point. I really like the Luckies, because, if the instructors find them, and the visibility is good, you will see a very beautifull valley under water. Then if the current is also strong you see all the big fishlike sharks and rays.
About the crew I can say that they`re really enthusiastic and kind. At the time I was there, the last 2 weeks of july, there were 3 instructors. Dany and Chris, a german couple, and Denny, a dutch guy. So if you like diving, they will help you very good and the rest is up to you, if you only make one dive, or 47 in 14 days like I did.
