Following for all foreigners, which only speak English, i´ll give you my experience with P&P
I visit Lanzarote four times. The first trip was gone to Costa Teguise, but there it´s better to surf than dive.
So I went the next time in the south of the island, to Playa Blanca.. visiting P&P Diving Centre.
Every holiday it´s great to dive with Petra, Peter and Sandra. They are very friendly, do a good job, they look for your completely safety, could learn you so much (also if you thought, that you are a good diver) and they will show you the finest places of the island.
If people tell you, that the nicest place is in the north, they won´t tell you the truth. I´ve done so much dives in the southern part of Lanzarote and every dive there was some new specials: Wreckdiving in Barranco de Kikere (at this place we saw dolphins from the surface), caves with thousands of gampas, butterfly-rays at their home in a sandy diveplace and many more.
The diving centre is in cooperation with DAN and ASBULAN (the organisation with many dive centres of this island, which are in cooperation with the hyperbaric chamber in Arrecife. P&P have also oxygen, handy and all emergency-phone-numbers in their cars. But in fact, that they look for a whole safety, they haven´t any dive accident since they have opened the diving centre many years ago!!
You will dive in small groups and also beginners will have a great dive. They could help you in every sitation (technical problems, courses, ..). Petra is the only female course director of (TL****) VIT. She is offering a special WOMENDIVECOURSE (“men have to stay outside”). Women mustn’t learn diving by a special course, but in some situations they will be just in a group of few women. P&P also offer a course of technical problems for free.
You will have much fun in diving and they do a nice Aprés-Diving.
The dive centre change the dive sites every day. Usually you do two dives a day. The first one in deeper water near Puerto del Carmen or in the north and the second dive at most time in Playa Blanca. If there are many enquires they will do a night dive on their “house reef“ called Aquarium or at two further places.
The dive centre is using Scubapro regulators, a quiet L&W compressor, steel-bottles in different sizes with DIN or INT, for one or two regulators, have every time a very very good equipment (they do often a revision on their equipment), some cars and in a few month they are completely able to use Nitrox.
The guests will be catched from all hotels in Playa Blanca and P&P will bring you back – without any extra costs for you. You could clean your equipment in a saltwater-FREE “bathroom”/small pool and you could use the dry room for your equipment after that. For your smaller equipment you could use your own box. They have also a small dive shop and books for reading after your dive.
I could say, that diver will come back again to P&P, also if they have been in Egypt or anywhere else before.
If you still haven´t enough positive information: Some divers say, that you can´t dive at Canary Islands, if you have seen the underwater-world of the Red Sea or Indian Ocean, because they say, you have seen “all”.
The person who believes this should dive never again!
Lanzarote had a bizarrely underwater-world with spectacular places, which you couldn´t found anywhere else. You will see much ocean life: On the sandy ground you see rays and angel-sharks, sepias and at the walls there live octopuses, moreys, corals and more.

This year P&P Diving Centre Playa Blanca had won the tauchen-AWARD 2003!
Have fun with P&P
