In September 2011 during our stay in Mallorca, a destination which of which we never get bored with, I had the opportunity to dive my second time with Albatros Diving Centre. The first time I dived with Albatros was the year before.
Having completed my PADI Open Water Driver certification, in the Dominican Republic, it was also the first time I have dived in the Mediterranean Sea. Diving in the Mediterranean Sea is of course very different from the Dominican Republic.
However I was still very amazed on the different aquatic species can be seen off the shores of this magnificent island, Mallorca.
With the excellent guides Toni and Victor who knows the areas and know exactly where to look for the animals one is always sure to find something new to see when diving with Albatros. I was fortunate enough to dive 12 times with them.
With their insight and knowledge of the waters, both Toni and Victor made diving a real pleasure.
Although the dives were all excellent, the fun started already when the dive center picks one up for free at one´s hotel, which really nice, because there is no extra worries of how to get to the dive centre. Once at the dive centre I have always been greeted in such a nice manner. I have my own wetsuit so I didn´t have to rent one, but they provided excellent equipment all in well maintained conditions.
After gearing up we usually went by boat to the diving locations which depend on the weather on the sea conditions. The water in Mallorca is nice and warm with almost no currents making it ideal for beginners, but at the same time offers amazing sea life for everyone to enjoy. Safety is written in capital letters with Albatros and the guides really take good care of one, which is also nice for younger divers.
As for the price quality ratio, I think it is really worth it.
So if you are looking to explore Mallorca´s coastal waters, seeing different life naturally or just want to have fun, I can really recommend Albatros. I usually reserved well in advance to make sure my place is reserved, because nothing is as disappointing as having to miss out on the fun due to a late reservation.
So all in all I give a 6++ star rating to Albatros, and will every time dive with them if I get the chance.
Happy diving
