We left last friday after three great weeks at Lanterna. But the most great happening was my diving at Waterworld Diving Center.
We arrived on the 13th of July in Lanterna. We have had some email contacts with the dive center before, because my daughter Chantal is eager to dive and wanted to continue. She baught a diving package with 10 dives. So we went to registrate in the center on Sunday. The welcome was very warm, everything looked good. On the next day Chantal did her first dive. It was an Checkdive with one of the instructors, which everybody below 30 dives has to do. Of course, she did not fail and had some terrific dives on several reefs. They have 2 diving boats, a big, fast one waterworld 1 and a smaller one, Rombo. They have some older equipment,in good condition, but most of it is fairly new. Since we were there, the center bought 8 completely new equipments. My daughter had to rent everything, except Mask and Fins.
One week later Cantal was allowed to go with an instructor to the wreck "Coriolanus" After that you could not stop her smile. She also bought a Jacket from the center.
I myself went to dive some 15 years ago, but made a bad experience, with some sort of panic. Roland, the dive center manager, convinced me to come to another trial dive with him. He tought me some special breathing techniques. First minutes under water in lanterna bay were horrible, but finally I did it ! And, furthermore, I continued and finished my PADI Open Water Brevet. You may not imagine, how happy I am !!!
But it was pitty that the diving boat, the waterworld 1 didnot sail for my last boatdive last thursday. I was so happy to make that dive together with Chantal but never the last we come back next year to see how the world underwater is some further distance from te coast.
