I just returned from a very impressive orca safari organized by Lofotdykk. We went out on a with a very beautifully restored wooden fishing boat. Dive trips and the actual contact with the orca´s were made with a 300HP sturdy RIB.
All my wishes were fulfilled: two afternoons of snorkelling with orca´s, spectacular nature, wreck and night diving, beautiful above water scenery topped of with northern lights at night.
Magne Goffeng has an enthusiastic, flexible way of organizing things and his wife Mariann threw in some excellent cooking on top of the package deal!
I found it not too hard getting there as you can fly to Svolvaer airfield which is only a 15 minutes taxi drive from the dive base.
Considering that Norway might be the most expensive country in Europe I found the package excellent value for money.
