Extra Divers dive centers in Sifah and Qantab opened

For a long time it was not possible to travel to the Sultanate on the Arabian Peninsula. But Oman with its unique nature, many cultural highlights and the proverbial hospitality of the Omanis promises a very special vacation. Since the beginning of September, entry for tourists is now possible again and the Extra Divers dive centers in Sifah and Qantab are already open again. Those who prefer to be on the water can experience varied diving safaris with the Oman Explorer from mid-October.

Vaccinated travelers are allowed to enter the country if they present a negative PCR test. The regulations according to the Foreign Office are as follows:

Tourists traveling to Oman must complete an entry declaration form

All entrants must provide proof of current COVID-19 vaccination protection upon entry by presenting a vaccination certificate with QR code, with the last vaccination at least 14 days prior to entry.

Those who provide proof of a negative PCR test upon entry are exempt from quarantine, provided the test result is in English or Arabic and includes a QR code. The test for flight connections over eight hours (including transit) must not be older than 96 hours at the time of entry. For shorter flight connections (including transit), the test must not be older than 72 hours.

All travelers must always present proof of one month's health insurance coverage, including treatment costs in the event of COVID-19 infection, upon entry.

From Europe, Oman is easily accessible and a real alternative to the Red Sea. The maximum depth of the diving spots varies between 15 and 30 meters and both beginners and advanced divers get their money's worth with varied dives. In Oman the unexpected can be expected! Impressive is the incredible amount of fish as well as the numerous schools of fish, which are attracted by the plankton rich water.

The pristine reefs offer many surprises: Large groupers, leopard sharks, stingrays, barracudas, turtles, cuttlefish, lobsters and rare moray eels. At the right time of year, a whale shark might also pass by. There is even a resident population of humpback whales in the southern part of the Hallaniyat Islands! The waters also offer a rich macro world with unusual nudibranchs in different colors, seahorses, shrimps and more. The reefs are a mix of field plateaus and walls, covered with colorful hard and soft corals.
