Malta: the goal of EuroPride 2023

As contradictory as it sounds, Malta is modern by tradition. The Mediterranean archipelago, for example, looks back on more than 7,000 years of history. Perhaps precisely because of its exposed position between continents and its changeable history, the country always has its eye on the future. In recent years, LGBTQI issues have gained high cultural acceptance in all areas of society.

Malta is the first European country to constitutionally enshrine the prohibition of discrimination against people based on sexual orientation and gender identity. In 2014, registered civil partnership including adoption rights was introduced. In addition, the country attracts with about 300 sunny days a year - no wonder that Malta has now established itself as a trendy queer vacation destination. Next year, EuroPride 2023 will take place in Malta.

Diving in Malta and Gozo

Malta's varied underwater world offers a variety of 'sights' accessible to divers of all experience levels. Wrecks at moderate depths for beginners and also apnea divers are accessible on both Malta and Gozo. For more experienced divers and for tekkies there are real gems at greater diving depths. Especially the wreck remains from the Second World War offer very special diving experiences here.

Due to the rocky seabed and lack of tides, great visibility underwater is guaranteed; the quality of the waters and the density of sights underwater and across the centuries is particularly high here. This makes the archipelago an ideal diving destination to discover historical treasures.

The Maltese diving areas have something in store for sportsmen of all levels and experience, because the depth of the attractions that can be dived varies: so you can explore sights already in shallow twelve up to 30 or even 40 meters. The diverse attractions are in excellent condition; some have been restored, so they promise a spectacular diving experience. And even beginners can discover something spectacular here on their first dives in safe waters. Thanks to the clear visibility, fascinating photos can still be taken even at depths of up to 30 meters.
